July 31, 2025

Congratulations on passing the doctoral examination with distinction!

On June 12, 2025, Yannick Schellander defended his dissertation entitled "Spatially resolved current- and photodetection based on amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide" with the distinction "summa cum laude".

The examination committee consisted of:

  • Professor Dr. sc. techn. Jan Hesselbarth (Chairman, IHF, University of Stuttgart)
  • Professor Dr.-Ing. Norbert Fruehauf (Main reporter, IGM, University of Stuttgart)
  • Professor Mamoru Furuta (Co-reporter, Kochi University of Technology, Japan)
  • Professor Dr. Alwin Daus (Co-examiner, IHT, University of Stuttgart)

For the last four years, Yannick Schellander has been investigating indium-gallium-zinc-oxide (IGZO) thin-film transistor-based current and light sensor arrays at the Institute for Large Area Microelectronics as part of the project "Electric readout of a nitric oxide trace-gas sensor based on Rydberg excitation" of the DFG-funded Research Training Group GRK 2642 "Towards Graduate Experts in Photonic Quantum Technologies".

We sincerely congratulate Yannick Schellander on passing his doctoral examination with distinction and wish him much success and all the best for the future!
